    you clueless little twat.

Pep buys a keeper, he’s shit, buys another. Buys center half, shit buys some more.

So who looks like an owl and has recently won the league with City’s cheque book? I’ll give you a clue, it’s not Hodgson.

United’s spending is high, but if you look at our biggest signings of recent years we aren’t buying abilities to fit the team. Marquee signings are used for marketing purposes. Di Maria is a point in case, fast countering winger bought to fit into a methodically slow system under Van Gaal.
Pogba brought in to play football with Maroune Fellaini and Matic. It’s more about marketing and turning a profit than building a team for us.
Sooner these Jews sell the club (they haven’t even paid for) the better. Wonder if any rich Arab families worth 96bn or so are looking for a new toy.

Not sure what the point of that tweet was. I didn't say that Pep hadn't spent a lot, I just said it's been comparable to Mourinho.

He did that with Bravo but he hasn't done that with centre backs. Bravo and Nolito are the only players that even come close to being flops and both of them were for smaller fees. Every other signing would be considered a success, most of them being absolutely outstanding.

What absolute nonsense. It's not even a good excuse from you either. Di Maria was brought in because Van Gaal said numerous times that he needed a fast pacy player. He literally fucking said it numerous times to the press you absolute fucking balloon. Di Maria just had an incredible season with Madrid and had unexpectedly become available because Madrid had just signed James so you made the deal.

Mourinho wouldn't have targetted Pogba for fucking marketing reasons. It's because he's a brilliant player.

So you think that because a manager says something it’s true. You naive twat.
Peps spending is the largest squad outlay in a short period of time in the leagues history. Mourinho has spent less then Klopp, see above you naive twat.
Di Maria is the most obvious marketing ploy I’ve ever seen, talk about square peg in a round hole. What did you expect Van Gaal to say when the deal for a fast pacey winger was probably going on behind the scenes anyway. You’re a special kind of thick when you’re excited.

I think Mourinho has targeted Pogba and he fits the boards ideals for merchandising. We’ve also got him on the never never so that the club (not the board) will pay for the player over the period of his contract.

I’m not even convinced that Fred (the red) is a Mourinho signing. If he is he’s not fucking keen on him.

Been really impressed at how we've improved post-international breaks. In previous seasons it's been one of our big Achilles heels. Today's game was one we drew last season and is certainly not a guaranteed 3 points for anyone. Watford are a good team but today they played to keep it tight and hopefully get a late goal for a smash and grab. Many teams have tried that this season, but the tactical changes we've made have definitely helped us in breaking down teams. As soon as we scored 1, you felt we'd quickly score more.

Defended well, aside from a few moments early on, and even after the sending off, looked to soak it up and hit them on the break, which we did to devastating effect. Another clean sheet and still only 5 conceded in 13 PL games. Our defensive record since Van Dijk joined us has been impressive.

One season wonder Salah now has 4 goals and 2 assists from his last 5 PL games. He's consistently getting into the right positions and seems to be working out how to handle having 2 or 3 players on him.

Good to see Firmino on the score sheet. He's suffered the most from Klopp's change of approach but now looks to be adapting. I think having Shaqiri behind him is helping a lot. With no Oxlade Chamberlain (who was pivotal in the final half of last season) we've been desperate for a link player between midfield and attack. In Shaqiri we seem to have that again.

33 from 39 is a bloody impressive start and only Man City's utter dominance detracts from that. We have to accept that they are that good. But we're clinging to their coattails and just have to hope we can stick with them through a packed Christmas period.

Chelsea losing tonight and slipping back.

Huge midweek game against PSG. Gotta say I can see us dropping out of the CL here. It was a tough group, but we've made the job hard by simply not turning up in the games at Red Star and Napoli.

Then Everton next Sunday. That should be a great game given how well they are playing as well.

Up there with one of the worst refereeing displays I've seen. Absolutely horrendous referee. The amount of diving from Neymar and Mbappe was unreal, Mane too to a lesser extent.

How the fuck has the referee just given a free kick for a foul by Salah on Neymar when Salah was literally feet away from him?

Also, don't understand when we switch out Trent for Gomez in big games. Gomez makes just as many mistakes at right back as Trent, without offering us as much going forward. Trent has also shown on a number of occasions his ability to step up to the biggest occasions and cope fine against the very best.

You had one shot on goal all game (a penalty) and you look to the referee. Behave your fucking self man.
You’ve lost all 3 away games and scored only one goal.
Don’t want to be captain obvious but perhaps the above has something to do with you staring elimination in the face.

I never said anything about how we performed. We weren't good enough. One shot on goal doesn't tell the whole story, but overall, we weren't good enough. I never said otherwise.

The referee was absolutely horrendous, however. Tried to avoid giving a stonewall penalty, missed a two-footed definite red by Verrati, gave Neymar a free kick for kicking himself (the most egregious of all of the decisions), and missed about a hundred other dives from Neymar. He's an incredible player and so talented, but he's an utter cunt on the pitch. We saw it during the summer and saw it again tonight. I've complained about refereeing performances prior to tonight, but tonight was the worst I've seen in a few years, it was that bad.

    It’s called deflecting.
The referee may have been poor, but he wasn’t the sorriest sight on the pitch. No matter how bad the ref was he still
couldn’t match the shitness of Liverpool.
Let’s face it, PSG just blew you away, the only answer you had was to try and foul your way back into the game and PSG kopped onto it. Play someone decent and look what happens.

PSG finally turned up there. They have the most expensive team of players and on paper should certainly be making the latter stages of the CL every year. They haven't been consistent up to this point and even the win last night was closer than it could or arguably should have been.

This was always a tough group. PSG were the favourites before we kicked a ball. And Napoli, despite appearances in pre-season were the second favourites. Napoli had a 90+ point season last year and were desperately unlucky to not finally end the stranglehold that Juventus have on Serie A. Even if we had won that game in Belgrade we'd still be left having to beat Napoli at home in the final game. It kind of felt it would always come down to this.

We absolutely haven't been good enough away in the CL this season. We've been too cautious and we've missed Oxlade-Chamberlain driving forward.

A 1-0 or win by 2 goals if Napoli score at our gaff and we're through. It's pretty much the same scenario as Olympiakos in 2004/05. Anfield will be buzzing and we just have to make it happen. Fail and we're in the Europa League.

Onto Everton now. Could be a classic derby that. Both teams going well in the league. Everton got two draws against us last season.

Yes Raj, because Liverpool haven’t spent anything on players. They’ve done it the Klopp way, buying pieces of Lego and building them all himself.

    Hahahahaha!

I was there when we twatted Everton 4-0 in 2014 and also when we hammered them in 2012. But there's nothing quite like a jammy, last-second 1-0. Derby games are often tough to call, despite Everton's lack of wins at Anfield. This season, there's a lot to respect about Everton. Silva has turned them into an exciting team and they had numerous chances as they took the game to us. It could easily have been 3-3.

I'll take all the jam coming our way if it means 3 points versus the Ev. And of course, it means a little gap has now formed between the top 2 and everyone else. Hopefully, we can keep it that way.

Couple of banana skin aways next (Burnley/Bournemouth), before the critical Napoli game and then Man Utd. Games coming thick and fast now.

Winning with some fluke last minute goal is probably my favourite way to beat Everton. It'd be that or a dodgy last minute penalty. When we play United though I like seeing us absolutely take them apart.

Burnley aren't at all a good side this year, we really should be thrashing them. Really need to be taking 9 from 9 imo, especially considering the United game is at Anfield. I have a feeling we'll get 7 from 9 though.

Wow, this is some run of luck.
I’ve not seen a similar amount of jam handed to any football team.
This is above and beyond Rafa in 2005
Absolute fluking almost every game. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pickford had clawed that back into play it was that poor a mistake.

I like your optimism. December is such a packed month that you can go from contenders to out of it and vice versa very quickly. Burnley have been awful this season, and Bournemouth aren't firing like they were. But given we have an eye on Napoli as well, I could see us dropping points in that run.

I'd be looking at rotating 4 or 5 players against Bournemouth for sure. Sturridge, Shaqiri, Keita, Fabinho/Henderson, and Lovren should all get that game. Give Firmino, Salah, Milner, one of the defensive midfielders, and possibly Van Dijk a rest. I still think we'd have enough to beat Bournemouth and they're the type of side that I could see Sturride and Keita having really good games against just because of how they play.

On a side note, how fucking good was Fabinho today? Thought he looked quality, really good game at an important time. Hopefully he continues to grow because we'll definitely need him for this busy season.

Rotating Trent and Gomez does my fucking head in. Hopefully Gomez is okay.

Can't wait for this Burnley team of dirty shithouses to get relegated, the useless pricks.

What a fucking win. Huge 3 points.

Van Dijk's passing is out of this world. Keita looked very good. Would start him against Bournemouth.
